Training & Tournament Weekend

Nottingham Blazers Training Weekend

This was the second training/tournament weekend for the Blazers Wheelchair Badminton Club in preparation for the 4 Nations Disabled Badminton Championships which took place in Manchester during April 2010.

Players travelled from all parts of the UK, as far away as Ireland, came to Ellis Guilford Sports Centre, Nottingham to take part in this exciting weekend.
Lyndon Williams Vice President of IBAD and top UK disability coach travelled from Scotland to deliver an intensive training camp.

Assisted by the Nottingham Blazer’s own coach Oliver Ward, the players were put through their paces on Saturday, with a doubles tournament on Sunday.

The feedback from the players was “what a terrific weekend, we really felt it had improved our game”.
A special “Thank You” to Eden Supported Housing Ltd who donated a cheque for £250. This helped support the event and made the weekend possible. Paul Adcock, General Manager of Eden Supported Housing Ltd, made the presentation to the club.

With the success of this event the “Blazers” will look to make this a regular slot in the calendar and it will be promoted at future “4 Nations” for all players to be invited.
