Badminton medals up for grabs at 4 Nations Disability Badminton Tournament
Nottinghamshire Blazers Wheelchair Badminton Club will be chasing medals for England in the forthcoming 4 Nations Disability Badminton Tournament in Liverpool during February 2009 organised by BADMINTON England. This was the first squad training cell for wheelchair players staged in Nottingham at the Ellis Guilford Sports Centre to give disabled players an opportunity to improve their standard of play and game.

The club had players attend from different parts of the country, and the training weekend was well attended and very successful. Elaine Spray, Badminton Development Officer, organised the weekend and invited specialist coach Lyndon Williams, top disability coach who is at present working in Scotland, to come to Nottingham to help run this specialist event.
The players worked hard on different routines both on wheel work and performance play to improve their stamina and standard for the forthcoming games which will run alongside the Badminton European Games in Liverpool also in February.

All the players are looking forward to a challenging weekend ahead of them at the 4 Nations, and especially excited at the prospect of winning some medals as they have achieved in previous events, adding to the clubs collection.
