4 Nations ParaBadminton Series - English Leg
The English leg of the series has been confirmed for the 13th - 15th of May 2011 at the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury.
With Paralympic sport in the spotlight in the run-up to the London 2012 Paralympics, BADMINTON England Disability Manager Tom Webster (pictured above right) is delighted to secure the venue. He said, “Stoke Mandeville is recognised by disabled athletes worldwide as the crucible of Paralympic sport. Although badminton will not feature in the London 2012 Paralympics, we have serious ambitions of appearing in the Rio 2016 Games. Exposing the disability sport community to badminton through the Four Nations Championships will be a great way to grow the sport and attract more potential medal winners to take up hitting shuttles.”
