Double Dutch British Open Titles

Esther Vergeer and Maikel Scheffers both of Netherlands won women’s singles and men's singles titles respectively at the 21st British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships, part of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour, at The City of Nottingham Tennis Centre.

No. 1 Vergeer beat her compatriot Jiske Griffioen 6-1 6-4 in the women’s singles final, Sunday’s last day of play saw an all Dutch men’s singles final as second seed Maikel Scheffers overcame fourth seed Ronald Vink in a thrilling 3 set match, 6-2 3-6 6-3.
